Ruben Amorim reiterated that Manchester United must win against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

United lost against Arsenal on the opening day of the season, drew against Fulham and then crashed out of the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town, who completed a giant killing.

The pressure has mounted on Amorim following the embarrassing defeat to Grimsby.

United need to secure three points against Burnley at Old Trafford ahead of the international break, and Amorim reiterated the importance of winning the game when he spoke to MUTV before kick-off.

"We have to win, that is all. We need to perform and we need to win," said Amorim

"That (keeping optimism) is more important than ever, when it is tough we need to stick together but most important today is to do our job, simple as that, and to win the game because are are in front of our supporters.

"We have good players. We are prepared for the game, we need, and we must, win the game."

Amorim has made just one change from last weekend and explained: "I am trying to imagine the game and the difficulties we had in the last game. The last game in the cup is really important because we are always in evaluation of the squad. We try to put the best players to win the game. "

He added about the back-three: "We have more players in those positions but they are doing things right so they will continue to play. It is really important, the way we play they are not just centre backs.

"They have to play as full backs, centre backs. They have to have the ball and sometimes they have more space than the other guys. They are in control of the game most of the time, so it is really important for us."

United are set to be active in the final days of the summer transfer window and could further strengthen Amorim's squad. Goalkeeper Senne Lammens is a target and discussions have taken place with Royal Antwerp.

After the international break, United will play Manchester City in the Manchester derby at the Etihad.
