Alexander Isak's transfer to Liverpool is reportedly on the brink of being finalised, with Newcastle United believed to have agreed terms with the Reds.
The forward has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield throughout the summer, and it appears that his wish may soon be granted. The Premier League champions had an initial £110million bid for the Swedish international rebuffed by Newcastle earlier in the transfer window.
The Magpies made it clear they would only consider selling if their £150m valuation was met and suitable attacking replacements were secured. Newcastle's acquisition of Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart was confirmed on Saturday morning, which has seemingly softened their stance on letting Isak depart.
Transfer expert Jan Aage Fjortoft now suggests a deal has been agreed between Newcastle and Liverpool, with a fee around the £130m mark being mooted. Speaking on beIN Sports, he said: "What I've been told is the deal is done, they've agreed he will go to Liverpool." He said the only hurdle was "time", adding: "I've been told that Alexander Isak is on his way and a deal should be done for Liverpool."
Fjortoft further hints that no official announcement will be made until after Newcastle's weekend match against Leeds United. However, once this fixture is out of the way, the transfer is expected to progress rapidly, with confirmation likely in the next few days.

Contrarily, the Daily Mail maintains that the two clubs are not in discussions and there is no evidence to suggest a deal is imminent. Instead, Liverpool are said to be concentrating on loaning Kostas Tsimikas to Roma.
Arne Slot was pressed about the chances of Isak making the switch before the transfer deadline, with the Liverpool manager responding: "Newcastle have signed a new No.9 which is very nice for Eddie [Howe]. Newcastle, if it's true, and I have no reason to not believe what you are saying, are about to sign a new No. 9.
"That's very nice for Eddie as Anthony Gordon is suspended and Alexander Isak has not been training with the team, so it's nice to have a new No 9. I think I said after Monday, I could make a sub to impact the game.
"As always we try to sign players to help us but there are no reasons to think after two games we need more. We will always try to strengthen if it's the right player at the right price.
"There are only a few days left (of the transfer window being open), so let's see. There are only three or four days to go now, so let's see if we do something."
