Manchester United have been handed an injury blow after Matheus Cunha was forced off during the first half of the Premier League clash with Burnley.

The frontman, who had again been asked to lead the line for the Reds, was replaced on the half hour after going down with an apparent knee problem.

Cunha was replaced by Joshua Zirkee, with United's £73million signing Benjamin Sesko left on the bench.

United went into the game with Burnley still seeking a first win of the season having been dumped out of the EFL Cup by League Two side Grimsby Town in midweek.

The Reds were beaten by Arsenal in their opening Premier League game of the season before drawing at Fulham.

United will hope the injury to Cunha is not a serious one with the Brazilian having impressed since his summer arrival from Wolves.

The issue may rule the 26-year-old out of international duty with Brazil due to face Chile and Bolivia next week.

United are without a Premier League game for a fortnight due to the international break.

Ruben Amorim's side are next in action in the Manchester derby on Sunday, September 14.
