Pittsburgh Steelers scouts get first look at Arch Manning during Ohio State-Texas game

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of 22 NFL teams that have scouts at the headlining Ohio State vs. Texas game on Saturday.

Arch Manning is the top talent to watch in that game in his toughest test as a collegiate football player. However, there are a ton of other talents in the game, such as Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, Texas wide receiver Ryan Wingo, and many others that could interest the Steelers.

Throughout the college football season, the Steelers scouts will be sent around the country to gather information. Their job starts almost immediately after the conclusion of the NFL Draft to start accumulating as much data on the next year’s crop.

Along with the Steelers, the New York Giants sent general manager Joe Schoen, while teams like the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and Chicago Bears each have multiple scouts at the game that will be filled with future NFL draft picks.

The Steelers have just one scout there, according to Ryan Fowler. Pittsburgh often does not send multiple scouts to a given location, instead opting to send their scouts across the country on any week.
