The team sheets are out at Elland Road, where Newcastle United take on Leeds United in today’s 5.30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.
Eddie Howe’s Mags are looking to pick up their first win of the season following a 0-0 draw at Aston Villa on the opening day and a 3-2 loss on Monday at home to Liverpool, while Leeds have managed one win and a 5-0 loss at Arsenal so far.
Here is how the two sides line up:
**Newcastle XI (3-4-3):** Pope – Schar, Botman, Burn – Trippier, Bruno, Tonali, Livramento – Murphy, Osula, Ramsey.
Subs: Ramsdale, Lascelles, Thiaw, Krafth, Hall, Willock, Miley, Barnes, Elanga.
**Leeds XI (4-3-3):** Perri – Bogle, Struijk, Rodon, Gudmundsson – Longstaff, Gruev, Stach – James, Nmecha, Gnonto.
Joelinton misses out, as expected, but Sandro Tonali is fit to start alongside Fabian Schar, while Sven Botman comes into the side to make up what looks to be a back three.
Will Osula starts in attack in Anthony Gordon’s absence and Jacob Ramsey also comes in for his first stars, seeing Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes drop to the bench.
Nick Woltemade was not signed in time to feature following his £69m move from Stuttgart, but former Mag Sean Longstaff starts against his former club, with the Geordie midfielder named in Daniel Farke’s XI.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Howe had this to say on the tricky test awaiting at Elland Road:
> _“Every time we have been to Elland Road, we have experienced the atmosphere their fans try to create. The start of the game is going to be very important for us. They have invested in a lot of good players._
>
> _“I love going to Elland Road – it is a stadium full of emotion, and we’ll need to use that emotion this weekend.”_
Howay the lads!
