Everything you need to know about Liverpool’s league phase fixtures.
This season marks the second season in which a league phase in the Champions League will be rolled out.
Liverpool were extremely successful within this format last season, topping the table after winning seven out of their eight games in the league phase.
The eighth game was lost after Arne Slot fielded a weaker side with qualification to the round of sixteen already secured.
Liverpool were then extremely unlucky to draw PSG in the next round despite the Reds winning the league phase, and they were knocked out by the team that would go on to win the whole thing.
This season, Liverpool gear up for yet another exciting Champions League league phase and the fixture dates and kick-off times have now been confirmed.
Atletico Madrid will pay a visit to Anfield to kickstart the Reds’ campaign.
Fixture list:
Atletico Madrid (Home) – 17th September
Galatasaray (Away) – 30th September
Eintracht Frankfurt (Away) – 22nd October
Real Madrid (Home) – 4th November
PSV (Home) – 26th November
Inter Milan (Away) – 9th December
Marseille (Away) – 21st January
Qarabag (Home) – 28th January
There are a few exciting encounters in there for sure.
Whilst it may be a warm reception for Hugo Ekitike as he prepares to face off against his old club Eintracht Frankfurt, you feel as if Trent Alexander-Arnold may not be greeted with the same amount of love as Real Madrid visit Anfield.
Lots to look forward to as Europe’s most prestigious footballing competition nears a return.
