Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bayern Munich collapses

Nicolas Jackson was pictured on a plane on his way to Munich, but Chelsea have informed Bayern that the player’s move to the Bundesliga club is off. The Athletic report that this is because of Liam Delap’s hamstring injury sustained in Saturday’s win against Fulham, which could see the Englishman sidelined for up to eight weeks.

It was reported that Bayern Munich had reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Jackson on loan for €15m, making him the fourth most expensive loan ever. The agreement also contained a €65m purchase option but with the move now off, it leaves Bayern Munich frantically looking for attacking reinforcements as we enter the final days of the transfer window.

Vincent Kompany’s side have already missed out on Nick Woltemade, who secured a transfer to Newcastle United on Saturday. And should an injury occur to Harry Kane, it would leave Bayern with Jonah Kusi-Asare (18) with the only remaining No. 9 in the squad – although the Swede has been linked with a loan move within the Bundesliga.
