Chelsea have cancelled Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich following Liam Delap’s injury.
Jackson has been pushing to leave Stamford Bridge before Monday’s transfer deadline and had attracted interest from several clubs including Aston Villa, Newcastle and AC Milan.
However, Bayern won the race to sign Jackson after agreeing a £13 million season-long loan with Chelsea.
The Bundesliga champions also had a purchase option included in the deal that was worth £56.2m.
Jackson arrived in Germany to undergo his medical on Saturday, but The Athletic report that Chelsea have cancelled the deal and have requested that the striker returns to London.

Chelsea’s decision comes after Delap suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-0 win against Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
When asked about the extent of Delap’s injury, Enzo Maresca said after his side’s win: ‘Liam Delap is expected to be out for six to eight weeks because of this type of injury.
‘Liam’s injury doesn’t look good, it was a full-speed hamstring, that will require weeks.
‘In terms of another striker, we will see if we take any decisions.’
