Liverpool have tabled an official offer worth £35 million to sign Marc Guehi before Monday’s deadline.
According to the Athletic‘s David Ornstein, Liverpool have submitted an official proposal to Crystal Palace for the 25-year-old worth £35 million.
The offer is a flat fee with no add-ons and Crystal Palace have yet to respond to Liverpool’s bid, with talks having been ongoing throughout the week.
Oliver Glasner insisted on Friday that his captain could not leave as Palace did not have enough time to find suitable replacements, but neither will he be allowed to leave for free next summer.
The defender has no intention to extend his contract at Selhurst Park and has chosen Anfield as his destination, removing any possibility to for the Eagles to create a bidding war.

Ornstein reports that “work continues” at Palace to secure reinforcements should Guehi depart, with Man City‘s Manuel Akanji and Monaco’s Mohammed Salisu having previously been named as targets.
Talks for Toulouse’s Jaydee Canvot at an advanced stage but he is not a replacement for the England international, with Palace needing to bolster their backline with or without losing Guehi.
Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that Crystal Palace were eager to explore the prospect of bringing Joe Gomez on loan as part of any deal for Guehi.
Liverpool’s stance is that is not a possibility due to Gomez’s versatility across the backline and undoubtedly his experience as Liverpool’s longest-serving player.
