Transfer twist: Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson will not be joining Bayern Munich after all

Chelsea have told Bayern Munich that they will not proceed with Nicolas Jackson’s loan move after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury against Fulham — leaving the striker furious.
Jackson had landed in Munich on Saturday afternoon to undergo a medical with the reigning Bundesliga champions, but Standard Sport understands the decision not to move forward with the deal was made by Chelsea officials while he was on board a private jet to Germany with his agents.
It is understood that Jackson is reluctant to come back to Chelsea and has been angered at being told that he must now return to London.
Saturday morning saw Chelsea grant Jackson permission to fly to Bavaria ahead of a loan move that would have cost Bayern €15million (£12.9m) for the season and included an option for a permanent €65m (£56.2m) transfer next summer, plus a sell-on clause.
But that move is now set to be cancelled after Delap was substituted in the 15th minute of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Fulham with a hamstring injury that Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has suggested could see him miss “six to eight weeks” of action.
Jackson does not appear to have many options and has been informed that he is no longer joining Bayern.

If Jackson had left, Delap’s absence would have meant that the in-form Joao Pedro was the only recognised fit senior striker at Chelsea, with Christopher Nkunku’s permanent move to AC Milan having also been announced on Saturday.
Chelsea believe the easiest solution is not to re-enter the transfer market ahead of Monday night’s summer deadline and sign a striker at the 11th hour, but rather bring Jackson back to the club.
Delap is set for scans after the win over Fulham, but Maresca appeared resigned to the fact that he could be without the Englishman for up to two months when he spoke to the media in his post-match press conference.
“Liam's injury doesn't look good in terms of, he was full speed, hamstring, so that requires, like always, weeks,” Maresca said.
“And then in terms of another striker, to be honest, we just finished the game from the changing room and came here for the press conference. So now after, when we finish, we're going to sit and we'll see if we take any decision. That's all.”
