Drafted first overall by the Detroit Lions in 2009 out of the University of Georgia, Stafford quickly established himself as a prolific passer despite playing on underperforming teams.
Over 12 seasons with the Lions, he set franchise records in completions, passing yards and touchdowns, becoming the fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 30,000, 40,000 and 45,000 career passing yards.

Traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, Stafford’s career peaked with a Super Bowl LVI victory, where he threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns in a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. That season, he posted 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns, earning his second Pro Bowl nod (first in 2014).
Stafford’s career totals stand at 59,809 passing yards and 377 touchdowns across 222 games, ranking him among the all-time leaders. He has consistently ranked in the top 10 for passing stats in recent years, including just outside the top 10 in attempts, completions, yards and touchdowns over the last two seasons.
