'Teenager with gun' swarmed by cops outside Premier League ground after game

The Met Police confirmed a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm and was confronted by officers outside a London tube station on Saturday afternoon

A "teenager with a gun" was swarmed by cops at Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge after today's Premier League match. Cops confirmed the teen was cuffed after being intercepted and searched outside a tube station at the end of the Chelsea vs Fulham match Saturday afternoon (August 30).

The Met Police confirmed a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm. It's understood the suspect was on his way to a comic convention in London.

Officers were on high alert after receiving information about a boy displaying a weapon and walking towards a crowded area, according to The Sun.

Dramatic footage of the arrest posted on social media show several uniformed officers in high vis tackling the suspect to the ground. He was pinned down and placed in handcuffs and then searched by officers. Cops also established a cordon around the scene to ward of peering Chelsea fans.

The officers can be seen searching through the suspect's bags as others held him to the ground. The suspect appeared to be wearing a balaclava covering everything but his eyes.

One officer removes the mask as others continue to pin him down by kneeling on his legs and back. The squad then turns the youngster onto his back and make him stand up before hauling him off. Nobody was hurt. The incident is believed to have taken place moments after the Chelsea vs Fulham game.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old boy remains in police custody after he was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. The arrest occurred in Fulham Broadway at 14:41hrs on Saturday, 30 August after officers received information about a boy displaying a weapon and walking towards a crowded area. No one was injured in the incident.”
