Manchester United might've picked up their first win of the Premier League season against Burnley, but the Portuguese coach issued a worrying update on three first-team players.
Touching on the fitness of Cunha, Mount and Sesko, he said: "I don't know. We will check them [Cunha and Mount] We need those guys really bad to be really competitive...
"He finished the game with cramps, really on the limit, that's why we protect Ben from the penalties, today that reason also. I was thinking Ben pre-season didn't do 90 minutes, he did that on Weds."
Amorim admitted he's an emotional manager and is keen to wear his heart on his sleeve. He said: "I was frustrated like any Man Utd supporter, we had chances to score more goals, create more chances. Today, the football was fair - we were the better team. Some moments are really decisive.
"Sometimes we were not playing so well, but you can see the effort of everyone on the pitch wanting to win. I am really emotional, and in the last few months you can see why. I am like that, and you like that."
Despite snatching the three points, it was another afternoon where United were forced to huff and puff. The first half was on the whole promising for the Red Devils, who ought to have had more than the one-goal advantage at the break. But it was the second half when the wheels started to fall off (again) for United.
Lyle Foster levelled things up for the visitors, with Bryan Mbeumo going down the opposite end to put United ahead once again. But lightning struck twice, as Jaidon Anthony netted Burnley's second equaliser of the contest to make it 2-2 - the score it remained up until the dying embers of the match.
Mbeumo has proved a standout for United in the early weeks of the season, with the recent arrival commenting on his new side's current form. He told the BBC: "Every game is hard and important. We had the game with us in the first half, but we had to fight every minute.
"I'm very happy, and we win as well. As a striker, it is important to be confident with goals. We are all a team, it is not only one person. We all worked very hard for the win today."
Amorim and United will no doubt be thankful for the international break, as it takes them out of the firing line for a couple of weeks. But all eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium when the Premier League returns, with United set to travel away to bitter rivals Manchester City.
