Ruben Amorim could only shake his head as Old Trafford celebrated Manchester United's second goal against Burnley - scored by new signing Bryan Mbeumo - before Bruno Fernandes' 97th minute penalty rescued three points.
The Brentford man ended a wait of almost four hours when he put the Red Devils ahead - which was the first Premier League goal scored by a United player this term after they were gifted own goals in the opening games of the season. Mbeumo's strike came just seconds after Burnley had drawn themselves left - putting the hosts 2-1 up - but whilst the majority of the stadium jumped up to celebrate Amorim could only turn and shake his head, his frustrations clear for all to see.
United's lead did not last long as the Premier League new boys equalised for a second time. The game looked set to end in a stalemate before VAR intervened to give the hosts a penalty, hammered home by Fernandes in stoppage time.
Amorim's side had picked up just one point from their opening two league games and were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby in midweek - making their late show against Burnley all the more vital.
Pressure has ramped up on the Portuguese boss who has struggled for answers in his 10 month tenure thus far. Despite spending more than £200million in the summer United have shown few improvements this term. Their most expensive recruit, Benjamin Sesko, was left on the bench for the third straight league game despite costing £74milllion. He was tipped to lead the team's line but has not had the desired impact and was criticised in midweek for taking the 10th penalty at Blundell Park.
In what was potentially a telling call, Amorim chose to bring on the unconvincing Joshua Zirkzee in the first-half when Matheus Cunha was forced off injured. In doing so he overlooked Sesko, who remained sat on the bench until the 72nd minute, but he struggled to make much of an impact during his brief cameo.

Amorim was again apologetic for Wednesday's embarrassing cup exit at the hands of the League Two outfit as he said in his programme notes: “Good afternoon and welcome back to Old Trafford. Today, as we welcome Scott Parker and his Burnley side, we need to give a response after Wednesday night’s cup fixture.
"I can only say to our supporters that I am sorry. The better team on the night won the game and both what we showed, everybody has to do better. Today, we have to show intensity from the start. We need to go out onto the pitch and show how we are capable of playing, because the only way we fix this is by winning games."
