Liverpool have made their move in the transfer window after submitting an official offer to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
The Reds have been pursuing two big deals ahead of Monday’s deadline, with both Guehi and Alexander Isak both in their sights.
Fans were starting to get a little antsy at the lack of movement over the weekend, despite some positive updates on the status of Isak’s potential move.
Things have been a little quieter in regards to Guehi, but as journalist David Ornstein reported on Saturday, Liverpool finally stepped things up with a £35m offer for the centre-back.
As Ornstein notes, Palace are yet to definitively respond to the bid, with other suggestions that they are even keen on bringing Joe Gomez the other way.
But key to this saga has always been the wishes of Guehi, and according to reporter Ben Jacobs, the 25-year-old has now made his feelings clear to Palace.

Marc Guehi informs Crystal Palace of wish to leave
In stark contrast to Isak at Newcastle, Guehi has kept on playing for Palace through the start of the season.
The captain has seemingly remained professional despite strong interest from Liverpool.

Crystal Palace make counter-offer
While Liverpool have made the first move for Guehi, Palace have now returned with a counter-offer.
As per journalist Sami Mokbel, the Eagles have come back to Liverpool with a new proposal.
“Crystal Palace make counter offer of £35million plus £5m in add-ons in response to Liverpool’s £35m, plus 10% sell-on, proposal for Marc Guehi,” writes Mokbel.
With just £5m difference in the two clubs valuations, and with Liverpool in real need of defensive reinforcements, it seems unlikely that an agreement is too far away.
Guehi has clearly made his decision, and while Palace will continue to search for a replacement, Liverpool should be confident of getting their man.
