EuroBasket 2025 Saturday recap: Serbia and France win again

Serbia and France, the two teams with Washington Wizards players, completed their games earlier today. Here are some quick notes on both games:

Les Bleus were actually down for most of this game. However, they took advantage of a 35-25 fourth quarter to pull away with the win in Group D with games to spare. While Sylvain Francisco led the French with 32 points, both Bilal Coulibaly (13 points) and Alex Sarr (12 points) also had strong offensive performances for Les Bleus. Luka Doncic scored 39 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the Slovenians.

This was a back and forth affair with Serbia ultimately winning though they never led by more than 12 points. And to be honest, Serbia never led by double digits for long. Still, they had control over the home team Latvians, who were always in striking distance, if only they shot better than 38 percent from the field. Nikola Jokic stole the show for Serbia with 39 points, but Tristan Vukcevic also had 5 points. For Latvia, Davis Bertans led with 16 points.

France plays Israel tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET. Serbia will play the Czech Republic at 2:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
