Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss had to watch his side win on Friday night from the stands after he was dropped from the matchday squad. Reports claim that he wants to leave the club after interest from many teams around Europe. At one point he was set for a move to Crystal Palace, but the transfer fee changed and the deal collapsed.
Leicester boss Marti Cifuentes explains why he left the player out of the squad:
“As I said, I don’t know what is going to happen. What I know is that I am happy with the victory today, and then let’s see what happens in the next three days.” he said speaking to Sky Sports.
“I said from the first time that we are always looking for ways to reinforce the team, and the way to do it is to look at the players that we have in the building, players from the academy. As I said, I am very satisfied with everyone.
“The target is always to have the best squad possible.”
