Leeds failed to cause Newcastle many problems at Elland Road.
The Whites and the Magpies played out an uneventful 0-0 draw in this Premier League clash, with Daniel Farke witnessing just one shot on target from his side.
The German’s decision to withdraw Wilfried Gnonto in place of Jack Harrison was a particularly strange move – considering the Italian had been impressing – and did little to change the course of the game.
Had Leeds kept Largie Ramazani – however – there could have been a better outcome against Newcastle.
Largie Ramazani shows Daniel Farke what he is missing out on at Leeds
As Harrison – and also Brenden Aaronson – failed to change the game against Newcastle, a forward Farke let go shone on Friday night in just ten minutes of action.
Ramazani, who Leeds loaned to Valencia on Thursday for the 2025/26 campaign, grabbed an assist on his La Liga debut only ten minutes into his first appearance, setting up Hugo Duro to seal a 3-0 win.

In contrast, Harrison and Aaronson did little to show they are much better than the Belgian during their 36 minutes against Newcastle – who just spent £65m to sign Nick Woltemade.
How Brenden Aaronson and Jack Harrison performed compared to Wilfried Gnonto
It was an odd move to take Gnonto off. The Italy international recorded two shots, completed one dribble, and delivered a teasing cross which Lukas Nmecha almost poked beyond Nick Pope.
Neither Aaronson nor Harrison managed to register a shot between themselves and also made just 11 passes combined, with the latter worryingly losing possession ten times – two more than Gnonto.
Player Shots (On Target) Key Passes Passes (Successful) Possession Lost Dribbles (Successful)
Wilfried Gnonto 2 (0) 1 20/24 (83%) 8 1 (1)
Jack Harrison 0 (0) 0 5/9 (56%) 10 2 (2)
Brenden Aaronson 0 (0) 0 6/8 (75%) 3 2 (2)

It was a display which proved Leeds need to make another attacking reinforcement before the 7pm transfer deadline on Monday – or else it could be a struggle for Farke to keep the Whites in the Premier League.
TBR Football understand Leeds are considering a move for Emiliano Buendia after losing out on Facundo Buonanotte to Chelsea, so there are at least plans to improve the squad at Elland Road.
