Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has dropped a cryptic update on Alexander Isak's future, amid ongoing transfer interest from Liverpool. The Reds had an initial £110million bid for the Sweden international turned down this summer - and have yet to go back in with a follow-up approach.
The ECHO understands Liverpool currently have no plans to launch a second offer before Monday's deadline. But speculation around Isak continues to spiral after he broke silence on the saga this month, underlining his desire to leave St James' Park before September 1.
Naturally, that has been THE big topic at Anfield, St James' Park and beyond with Howe sharing a brief update on Isak during his post-match press conference after tonight's Premier League game with Leeds.
He said: "I don't know, I'm not party to any talks going on.
"I've been preparing for this game and you can imagine that's demanding enough.
"So I will find out like everyone else."
