Everton are still in desperate need of a right-back as the deadline approaches, and David Moyes now has no excuse.
Although Jake O’Brien has been an option to rely upon at right-back, Moyes knows that having a proper right-sided defender will pay off.
This has been relayed to the hierarchy, as when three signings were wanted by the Toffees boss, Moyes outlined right-back as a priority.
With Seamus Coleman still shining for Everton, it’s good to have back-up, but the time for the Irishman to be a starter has passed.
Now, Everton have been given a great chance to relight a flame with one target, and it’s very achievable.

Everton target Juanlu Sanchez now available as Napoli disappear
Depth in this area is beginning to become fewer and fewer, as Nathan Patterson is joining Sevilla on loan.
This means there is surely a perfect opportunity for Everton to sign target Juanlu Sanchez, who has been on Moyes’ three-man shortlist for right-backs.
But Napoli have led this race for a while, and it looked like they would sign him; however, speaking to DAZN, journalist Matte Moretto has suggested otherwise.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
“Regarding Juanlu Sanchez, Napoli have completely disappeared, with no contact for Sánchez in recent hours,” Moretto said.
“The negotiation is stalled. Sevilla is still asking for 20 million, and Napoli offered 17.”
Everton have looked at Sanchez since February, and the Spaniard would be the perfect solution for the Toffees’ difficult circumstances.
Juanlu Sanchez’s versatility is exactly what David Moyes needs at Everton
The Blues now have the opportunity to strike, and £20 million looks like a bargain for the promising 22-year-old.
He’s been a revelation in the last two seasons for the Seville side, and it’s clear he’s in search of a move.
Napoli were tough competition for Moyes, but with deadline day approaching and the Spaniard looking for a move, Everton should just pay Sevilla’s demands.
It’s the least they could do after Patterson was loaned to the La Liga side, but the perfect reason why Everton need the right-back is his extraordinary versatility.

The four positions that Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez can play
To not only solve their right-back issues but also have an attacking option is exactly what is needed, and although Sanchez rejected Everton, the Premier League could be an enticing move this late in the summer.
A right-back must be signed; otherwise, more problems will be faced this campaign, and for £20 million, it’s an absolute no-brainer.
