Manchester United haven’t been brilliant as of late, but according to Ethan Nwaneri, the Red Devils have one of the toughest defenders in the Premier League.
Nwaneri may only be a young man, but he’s played against some of the best of the best in England.
Nwaneri is a top talent, and he’s starred against some of the league’s best in recent months.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Ethan Nwaneri has named a current Manchester United player as his toughest ever opponent.
Indeed, according to the Arsenal starlet, his toughest opponent is none other than Diogo Dalot, claiming that the Portugal international is a very good player defensively and he’s actually very strong.

Ethan Nwaneri names Diogo Dalot as his toughest opponent
Nwaneri was asked to name his toughest opponent in his career so far.
Interestingly, the young attacker claimed that Diogo Dalot is the player he’s struggled against more than any other, stating that the £19m man is very strong and a good defender.
“Toughest opponent?” Nwaneri was asked.
“Maybe, Dalot, yeah he’s very good defensively, he’s strong, he’s strong,” Nwaneri said.

Nwaneri named Dalot as his toughest opponent, and these two have, interestingly, only ever played against one another once in their careers so far.
Indeed, Nwaneri started against Manchester United at Old Trafford last year in a 1-1 draw, and it’s fair to say that this game was one of Nwaneri’s toughest.
The stats from that match show that Nwaneri had a tough afternoon against Dalot.
Ethan Nwaneri’s stats vs Diogo Dalot
Goals 0
Assists 0
Shots 0
Key passes 0
Dribbles 0
No shots, no key passes, no dribbles, it’s fair to say that Dalot had Nwaneri in his pocket on that day.
Of course, with more experience under his belt since, Nwaneri has improved, and he may well do better the next time he faces off against Dalot.
Dalot has been criticised at times for Manchester United in recent months, but, at his best, he is a decent defender who can handle tough challenges down either flank.
