Daniel Farke reveals Leeds United’s transfer plans for the final days of the window

Leeds United continued their great form at Elland Road stretching back to the start of the year. After getting a huge upset over Everton on the opening day of the season, the Whites felt confident heading into Saturday’s game.

The match against Eddie Howe’s side also gave Daniel Farke the perfect chance to respond after two shocking results this past week. Leeds lost 5-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates, and suffered a shock defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

The Whites were able to hold on and even limited Newcastle in front of goal. After the game, Daniel Farke saw the positives from the match:

”Pleased with this game and in general this start to the season. Two clean sheets in the first home games.

”There was not much between us – a well deserved point for both. We had the first half and they were more dominant in the second half.

”To give hardly a chance away and look dangerous in periods.”

Leeds United boss speaks on transfers ahead of deadline

The Whites suffered a shock on Friday. After engaging in talks with Brighton and convincing them to agree to a loan for Facundo Buonanotte, a flight was booked for the player on Friday.

Then the flight was abruptly cancelled as it was revealed that Chelsea had stepped in and hijacked the deal. With the Whites losing a major target, the rest of the window looks bleak.

Daniel Farke shared what could happen in the next 48 hours before the deadline:

”There is always hope. As soon as Dom [Calvert-Lewin] gets full fitness, this will be beneficial. Noah missed training with groin problems as soon as he is fit, will be beneficial for us.

”We were competitive first three games. But we need to do more in the offence.”

According to reports, Bilal El Khannouss is back on the radar, and is considered the club’s major transfer target ahead of the deadline.
