Mikel Arteta can field a fresh Arsenal attack including Viktor Gyokeres against Liverpool
Arsenal Football Newsletter
Mikel Arteta is not afraid to field a brand new forward line of Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres at Anfield on Sunday.
The trio are all new signings at Arsenal this summer and they are yet to play together, with Eze only joining last weekend.
Arteta, however, could start the three together against Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday due to a spate of injuries in the forward line.
Bukayo Saka (hamstring) and Kai Havertz (knee) will definitely miss the game at Anfield, while Leandro Trossard is a doubt.
It means Arteta could start Eze on the left, with Gabriel Martinelli an unused substitute during last week’s win over Leeds.
Madueke is set to come in for Saka on the right flank, and Gyokeres should lead the line again in place of Havertz.

And asked if he would trust Eze, Gyokeres and Madueke to blend together straight away at Anfield, Arteta said: “Yes I do fully trust them, yes.
“I don’t know [if they will all start], but we haven’t got Gabby Jesus, we haven’t got Kai Havertz, we don’t have Bukayo Saka. That is our reality, and Leandro Trossard probably [is out as well].
“So it’s our reality what we have and we are going to have to find something and probably something we haven’t done before. It can work really well as well.”
Eberechi Eze could make his Arsenal debut at Anfield
Arsenal have struggled at Anfield and they have not won in the Premier League there since 2012, when Arteta was playing in midfield.
The Gunners have, however, won at big grounds recently - including the Bernabeu last season - and Arteta believes they are ready to end their Anfield hoodoo.
“I do feel that we are stronger now and we are more mature,” he said.
“We went through together a lot of experiences and that was the preparation that sometimes you need.
“That’s why I am convinced that we can go to Anfield and get the result that we want.
“They are the champions, they are champions for a reason, because they deserve to be champions.
“They were the better team last year, the most consistent one, the one that found ways to win in many different ways and we want to be that team this year. We need to go to Anfield with that spirit and that conviction.”
