[**Real Madrid**](/) **2-1 RCD Mallorca** _(Güler & Vinícius Júnior). Three out of three for Real Madrid..._ This is my immediate reaction t the strange win. Get more: Player ratings, interviews and a podcast.
The season had started strong, with two league wins accompanied by two clean-sheets. Mallorca has become almost a rivalry in recent seasons, with certain instances and certain players able to frustrate both players and fans alike with their antics. The Madrid line-up was good on the eye, with only Franco Mastantuono surprising a few with his name on the team sheet. Castilla new boy Thiago Pitarch continued to be called onto the bench. Fede Valverde was captain once again.
There were so many disallowed goals over the course of the 90 minutes, that it became difficult to keep up with. It started four minutes in when Kylian Mbappé was flagged for a very tight offside. Mallorca would then take the lead before Arda Güler would cancel that goal out before half-time. An instant attack from Vinícius Júnior would send his side in ahead at the break, with the Brazilian looking back to his best after toying with the Mallorca defence before finishing them off with his weaker foot. Mbappé then had another goal disallowed for a clearer offside. 2-1 at half time.
The second half was jagged as Los Blancos appeared to running in tired legs. Arda Güler appeared to make things more comfortable for the home side, before this goal was again cancelled out - this time for a handball as the ball was hit towards him at speed. Mallorca then looked to capitalise on their opponents empty tank, coming close if not for the good work of Álvaro Carreras. Despite looking dangerous, Real Madrid managed to contain the threat and see the game out with a 2-1 score-line - making it three wins from the first three league games.
