Deadline approaching: Conrad Harder, Alexander Isak and Emi Martinez could all be on the move before Monday night
The drama is building as we enter the final stretch of the summer transfer window. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all pushing to complete major moves before Monday night’s 7pm deadline, with plenty more twists and turns expected between now and then. Alexander Isak remains the biggest saga of them all of course as Liverpool strive to sign both the Newcastle striker and Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
Piero Hincapie should finalise his switch to Arsenal on Sunday, while Manchester United have now made a move for Emiliano Martinez and remain in talks with Senne Lammens as they bid to secure a new goalkeeper. As ever there is plenty going on at Chelsea, who have submitted an offer for Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez and left Nicolas Jackson furious by cancelling his loan move to Bayern Munich as they now consider adding another striker such as Conrad Harder. Facundo Buonanotte will also undergo a medical ahead of his shock switch to Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa are pushing to sign West Ham star Lucas Paqueta, while Manchester City hope to offload Ederson and acquire Gianluigi Donnarumma as Tottenham aim to win the race for Manuel Akanji. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!
Chelsea are considering signing another striker before the deadline, new reports claim.
The Blues look set to be without Liam Delap for up to eight weeks after he injured his hamstring against Fulham yesterday, on the same day that Christopher Nkunku joined AC Milan on a permanent deal and Nicolas Jackson looked set to move to Bayern Munich on loan.
Though the Jackson loan has now been dramatically scrapped at the 11th hour, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Chelsea could yet let him go permanently and are considering another striker signing with enquiries made for a number of potential targets.
That number is said to include Sporting’s young Danish star Conrad Harder.

Manchester United look determined to sign a new goalkeeper before Monday night’s transfer deadline.
Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir have both come in for heavy criticism during the early weeks of the season, leaving the Red Devils with no choice but to act.
United have been in lengthy talks with Royal Antwerp over Senne Lammens, while they have now reportedly also made a contingency move for Emiliano Martinez.
That is per Fabrizio Romano, who says discussions for Lammens are still ongoing, but with a new approach now made to both Aston Villa and Martinez in case they do not get the Belgian.

Arsenal look set to finalise their eighth major signing of a remarkable summer on the penultimate day of the transfer window.
On Friday night came the news that the Gunners had agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to sign versatile defender Piero Hincapie on an initial season-long loan that includes the option for a £45m permanent move next summer.
Hincapie was given permission to travel to London for a medical and Fabrizio Romano said last night that he was expected to complete the switch within 24 hours.

Sky Italia report that the Dane is set to undergo a medical ahead of his move from Manchester United, in a deal worth a potential £43m, including the loan fee.
That loan fee is more than £5m (€6m) and the obligation price is £38m (€44m).
Howe looking forward to squad 'clarity'
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has said he is looking forward to getting some “clarity” about his squad when the transfer window slams shut.
The Magpies are currently dealing with Alexander Isak, who wants to leave the club and move to Liverpool.
"We're really looking forward to that clarity in terms of what our squad looks like,” Howe said after his side’s 0-0 draw with Leeds.
"Once we have that, we'll move forward and I'm sure we can do really well this year."
Chelsea insist Jackson loan over
Chelsea are insisting that Nicolas Jackson will not complete a loan move to Bayern Munich.
The Blues pulled the plug on their agreement with Bayern to send the Senegalese on loan with an option to buy after Liam Delap went off injured in their win over Fulham.
The Daily Telegraph suggest that Chelsea are adamant with a furious Jackson that he cannot proceed with the move and that he must return to the club.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Fenerbahce are rivalling Turkish rivals Galatasaray for Ederson.
Gala had a €10million bid rejected for the goalkeeper a couple of weeks ago.
Villa close on Paqueta deal

The Italian journalist suggests that an initial loan move is close to completion, with the Villans looking to agree a £47million obligation to buy - including a loan fee - for the West Ham midfielder.
