The Mirror report this morning that Albert Sambi Lokonga is close to agreeing a move to Hamburg.
The Bundesliga side are set to seal a permanent deal for the Belgian midfielder, who is surplus to requirements at Arsenal. Having joined from Anderlecht in the summer of 2021, the 25 year old has struggled to make an impact in North London.
He has had loan spells at Crystal Palace, Luton and Sevilla, and when he played he generally acquitted himself well, but a series of niggling injuries have hindered his time at each of those clubs.
With a contract that expires in less than 12 months time, the fee is likely to be minimal, but hopefully it’s the right move for the player who has to leave to get regular first team football.
Sambi has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners.
