Confirmed Line-ups for Liverpool vs Arsenal: Martinelli, Merino & Mac Allister start, big…

Arsenal take on Liverpool in today’s much-awaited Premier League clash at Anfield.

Ahead of the game, manager Mikel Arteta has made two changes from the 5-0 rout of Leeds United.

David Raya continues in goal for the Gunners, and there is also an unchanged backline.

Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori make up the back four.

Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice retain their places in the centre of the park. They will have a new partner in Mikel Merino, with Martin Odegaard not deemed fit to start the game.

The club captain sustained a shoulder injury in the opening half against Leeds.

In the final third, Bukayo Saka won’t be involved after a hamstring injury last weekend.

In his absence, Noni Madueke has moved to the right wing. Gabriel Martinelli, who has been a nemesis for the Reds over the years, has got the nod on the left side of the Gunners’ attack.

Viktor Gyokeres will lead the line after a promising home debut with a brace.

Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Merino, Rice; Madueke, Gyokeres, Martinelli.

Liverpool have made one change from the 3-2 victory over Newcastle United on Monday night.

Alisson Becker starts in goal for the Merseyside giants. Dominik Szoboszlai continues as the makeshift right-back with Milos Kerkez operating from the opposite end.

Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are paired up again in central defence. There is a change higher up with Alexis Mac Allister coming in for Curtis Jones in midfield.

Mac Allister will be accompanied by Ryan Gravenberch in the centre of the park, with Florian Wirtz operating as the attacking midfielder for the Anfield club.

Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo start on either side of Hugo Ekitike, who will play upfront.

Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike.
