Alexis Mac Allister returns for Liverpool as Arne Slot makes one change for the visit of Arsenal at Anfield. The Argentina international makes his first start of the season.

Mac Allister partners Netherlands international Ryan Gravenberch for the first time since Tottenham Hotspur were hammered to secure the Premier League title at Anfield on April 27. Curtis Jones makes way.

It means Dominik Szoboszlai keeps his place at right-back after an excellent showing at Newcastle United on Monday when Slot's men won 3-2 thanks to Rio Ngumoha's 100th-minute winner.

Conor Bradley continues on the bench having only recently returned to fitness.

Florian Wirtz keeps his place as the most advanced of the midfield trio with Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Hugo Ekitike in the forward areas.

Monday's match-winner Ngumoha is once more on the bench having turned 17 on Friday.

Federico Chiesa, Jones and Harvey Elliott are also selected alongside Wataru Endo, while Bradley, Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez complete the outfielders.

Arsenal are without a number of players through injury, including Bukayo Saka, but captain Martin Odegaard is fit enough for a place on the bench alongside new signing Eberechi Eze.

Liverpool: Alisson; Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo Ekitike. Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Robertson, Bradley, Elliott, Jones, Ngumoha, Chiesa, Endo.

Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Rice, Merino, Madueke, Gyokeres, Martinelli. Subs: Arrizabalaga, Mosquera, Odegaard, Eze, Trossard, Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly, Dowman, Harriman-Annous.
