The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed offensive lineman Dylan Cook to their practice squad. He cleared waivers after they released him, and now the Steelers bring him back for his third season with them.
Cook can play every spot on the offensive line but center, giving the Steelers a quality depth piece to work with in Cook.
Veteran Andrus Peat passed Cook on the depth chart after the team’s first preseason game, which signaled Cook would be left off the roster.
Cook is entering his third season with the team. The Steelers have a lot they want to see from him, and Mike Tomlin would not crown him even after getting some first team reps at times in training camp.
Cook has yet to play in an NFL game, and his goal was to make the 53-man roster. He initially made the 53-man roster in 2023.
Cook’s versatility helped push him onto the practice squad, and if the Steelers need help from the practice squad, they could always call him up, however, they have ten rostered offensive lineman.
A former quarterback at Montana, Cook converted to offensive tackle. The Steelers claimed him off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he was released from the team during the spring of 2023.
