Ranking the top 25 wide receivers in NFL history…
4. Marvin Harrison
Drafted 19th overall by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1996 NFL Draft out of Syracuse University, Harrison established himself as a precise and prolific receiver, forming an explosive combo with Peyton Manning.
Over 13 seasons with the Colts from 1996 to 2008, Harrison set franchise records in receptions (1,102), receiving yards (14,580) and touchdowns (128), helping the team to consistent playoff appearances.
His peak years included 1999, with 115 catches for a league-leading 1,663 yards and 12 touchdowns, and 2002, when he set an NFL single-season record with 143 receptions (later broken) for 1,722 yards and 11 scores, earning first-team All-Pro honors.

Harrison contributed to the Colts’ Super Bowl XLI victory in 2006, catching a touchdown in the win over the Chicago Bears. He earned eight Pro Bowl nods, three first-team All-Pro selections and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016, also making the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team and NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
Harrison’s career totals place him sixth all-time in receptions, ninth in receiving yards, and fifth in receiving touchdowns. He and Manning hold records for the most completions (953), yards (12,766) and touchdowns (114) between a QB-WR tandem.
Harrison’s standout attributes were his quickness off the line, exceptional route-running precision and reliable hands. Despite a slighter build (6-foot, 185 pounds), Harrison was durable. His playing style was that of a technician: methodical, deceptive with sharp cuts and consistently open due to his timing and chemistry with Manning.
