With less than a week until their Week 1 showdown with the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles hit the practice field on Sunday with a couple of important roster moves being made.
The team announced that they have signed offensive lineman Kenyon Green to the active roster after spending time on the practice squad. Wide receiver Terrace Marshall returns to the Eagles as he was signed to the practice squad.

Green was part of the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade with the Houston Texans back in the offseason after being a starter and a former first-round pick. Marshall is back after spending training camp with the Eagles and has bounced back and forth between the active roster, practice squad and being released.
What does the moves mean for the Eagles entering the Cowboys matchup
The Eagles need depth on the offensive line with left guard Landon Dickerson working his way back from his meniscus injury, and recent signing Willie Lampkin was placed on IR to start the year. Green was the second and third string left guard as he bounced between them after Dickerson's injury. He struggled in the preseason and suffered an injury of his own.
Philly' wide receiver room is deep which is part of the reason Marshall was not able to make it. Marshall got hurt right before the first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which caused him to miss time and opened the door for Darius Cooper to emerge and earn a roster spot.
Green and Marshall will most likely continue to alternate between the active roster and practice squad as both are valuable veterans who can be plugged in at any time. They will play significant roles in having depth on the roster.

While they won't play on Thursday, they will help the team in more ways than one later in the year when injuries occur.
