Premier League clubs have just hours left to complete transfer business with the summer window set to slam shut on Monday evening.
England’s elite have again led the way when it comes to spending, dwarfing their European counterparts for money spent on new signings. There are expected to be further big deals completed with business to go down to the wire.
When does the 2025 summer transfer window close?
The summer transfer window for Premier League and Football League clubs will close at 7pm on Monday 1st September, 2025. The deadline for deals has been brought forward to 7pm from the usual 11pm deadline, to allow for more normal working hours for staff.
Usually, clubs are granted a two-hour grace period to complete deals if the required paperwork is submitted before the deadline.
When does the transfer window close in Europe?
Europe’s major leagues have all reached agreement on the transfer window dates for 2025. The transfer windows for the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 also all close on Monday September 1.
Do any other leagues have later transfer windows?
Several leagues across world football will remain open for business after the Premier League period ends. The most notable include the Eredivisie (September 2nd), Turkish Süper Lig (September 12th), Super League Greece (September 12th) and Saudi Pro League (September 10th). All of these leagues can purchase players from the Premier League until the dates specified.
The Women’s Super League transfer window is also later than the Premier League window. The WSL window closes at 11pm on Thursday September 4th.
