Piero Hincapie, Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi

Transfer targets: Marc Guehi, Alexander Isak and Piero Hincapie

Deadline Day is finally upon us as a remarkable summer window prepares to close. There are a number of huge deals still in the works, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all hoping to get new signings confirmed before tonight’s 7pm deadline. The biggest deal of the whole summer will see Alexander Isak join Liverpool for around £130million after a British record fee was agreed overnight between the two clubs. Arne Slot also wants Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi for £35m.

Arsenal are set to conclude a very successful summer with the loan-to-buy deal for Piero Hincapie, who will be announced as Mikel Arteta’s eighth signing of the window. The Gunners also want to ship out the likes of Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga. Manchester United are working on two goalkeeper signings, with talks ongoing for both Emi Martinez and Senne Lammens with the view to completing just one deal.

Chelsea’s striker situation has become quite murky, with Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich cancelled and Marc Guiu recalled from Sunderland in light of Liam Delap’s injury. The Blues also hope to confirm the loan signing of Facundo Buonanotte and have interest in Fermin Lopez. Elsewhere, Tottenham still want to sign another winger and defender, with Manchester City pair Savinho and Manuel Akanji linked along with Randal Kolo Muani. West Ham and Fulham still have business to sort and Palace hope to confirm more incomings. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live throughout Deadline Day below!

Man Utd in double talks with Martinez and Lammens

Emi Martinez wants to join Manchester United before tonight’s summer transfer deadline, reports claim.

Yesterday, it was reported that the Red Devils had approached both the Argentine and Aston Villa as a potential goalkeeper contingency plan if their ongoing talks with Royal Antwerp over Senne Lammens did not bear fruit.

There has been talk of a fresh bid for Lammens, while Fabrizio Romano reports that Martinez has now agreed personal terms with United and told Villa - for whom he did not play again last night - that he wants to complete the move.

Jadon Sancho could yet head in the opposite direction, while interestingly it is said that Lammens could now be a target for Villa if Martinez goes to Old Trafford.

The plot thickens!

Liverpool agree blockbuster Isak deal

Liverpool are set to smash the British transfer record for Alexander Isak in a blockbuster move on Deadline Day.

The summer’s longest-running and most-high profile saga is finally set to end in the final hours of the window with the wantaway Swedish striker at last getting his dream move to Anfield.

Isak is expected to sign a six-year contract on Merseyside and undergo a medical after Liverpool agreed to pay £125m to Newcastle, who will earn £130m from the deal in total with solidarity.

The question now becomes - will Marc Guehi follow before 7pm tonight?
