West Ham United and Arsenal are both still active on transfer deadline day.
The Irons picked up their first win of the season on Sunday against Nottingham Forest, while the Gunners were dealt their first defeat by Liverpool.
The focus of both clubs is on transfers now, with Arsenal mainly focusing on outgoings before the 7:00 pm deadline on Monday.
West Ham could help Mikel Arteta’s side with one player now, but they will have to be quick.
West Ham are ‘keen’ to sign Fabio Vieira but Hamburg open surprise talks with Arsenal
Fabio Vieira has no future at Arsenal.
The Portugal international was signed by the Gunners in a £34 million deal back in 2022, and he was viewed as a player with big potential.
However, Vieira has failed to live up to that, and after sending him out on loan to Porto last season, the Gunners want to get rid of him.
Stuttgart offered £17 million for Vieira, but Arsenal demanded more. That led to the German club moving on and striking a deal for Bilal El Khannous instead.
Now, fellow German side Hamburg, who are about to sign Albert Sambi Lokonga, have opened talks with the Gunners to sign Vieira.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who has claimed that West Ham are also still keen on the versatile attacker.
He tweeted: “Hamburger SV are considering a surprising loan move for Fábio Vieira on Deadline Day. Talks have taken place, with a decision expected on Monday morning.
“West Ham are also keen on the 25 y/o attacking midfielder. HSV on it. Confirmed. Interest in Vieira is independent of the imminent transfer of Albert Sambi Lokonga (permanent deal).”

Arsenal should aim to sell Fabio Vieira – not loan
Vieira, on his day, is an excellent player.
The 25-year-old is hugely versatile, excellent on the ball, possesses incredible vision and has the ability to create and score goals.
However, he has no place at Arsenal now, and that will not change in the future either because of youngsters like Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.
That is why Arsenal should do everything they can to offload Vieira permanently – Andrea Berta should at least get an obligation-to-buy clause inserted in the deal if it’s a loan.
It remains to be seen how this plays out, but we expect Vieira to leave Arsenal one way or another before the deadline on Monday night.
