Green Bay Packers: Franchise Legend Aaron Rodgers is Most Intriguing Player for 2025 Season;…

East Rutherford, New Jersey — November 25, 2012 — Green Bay Packers vs New York Giants — Osi Umenyiora chases quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the first half.

A-Rod is 41 years old and is entering his 21st season as an NFL pro. Steelers went all-in on him despite his mediocre two seasons with the New York Jets. Many believe he still got the skills and the veteran-savvy to take Pittsburgh far into the postseason.

Others feel different. They think he has no gas left in the tank. Age is another reason why they think he won’t be able to deliver and disappoint the hopes Steelers fans have in him.

This is why he is no. 1 in The Athletic’s list of most intriguing players.

“Tomlin and company have gone eight seasons without a playoff victory. Steelers brass believes the future Hall of Fame quarterback could help them finally get over the hump,” the Athletic’s Mike Jones wrote.

“But does Rodgers actually have enough left in the tank to do so? He is now two years removed from the Achilles tendon tear that robbed him of the 2023 campaign, so his strength and mobility should have improved.”

Jones echoed what other analysts say about how the Steelers need to protect him more, especially the offensive linemen to fully utilize his skills

“The Steelers need Rodgers to help mask deficiencies like an inconsistent offensive line and run game, and inconsistent wide receivers after DK Metcalf.”

New Green Bay Packers DE Micah Parsons is Top 6

Newest Packer Micah Parsons got paid big time after being traded to Lambeau by Dallas Cowboys. The team instantly made him the highest-paid non quarterback in league history.

Jones said he is the sixth most intriguing player this season because he finally got the salary he insisted although not with the team he played for in the last four years.

Green Bay Packers, Micah Parsons

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons speaks during an introductory press conference on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The Packers made a trade with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 28 to acquire Parsons in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first round picks.

“The Packers already had the look of a legit NFC contender, but adding Parsons — one of only three players in the league to record 12-plus sacks in four of the last five seasons — should further elevate Matt LaFleur’s squad.”

Parsons is yet to practice with his new team but he is expected to play in Week 1 assignment against the Detroit Lions.
