Arsenal player set for ‘last-minute’ move – Completes medical, announcement pending

Albert Sambi Lokonga hasn’t made an appearance for Arsenal this season as he’s not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Last week, we covered claims from Turkey that Trabzonspor have reached an agreement in principle to sign the midfielder.

The Arsenal player won’t be joining Trabzonspor but will instead move to Germany to complete a move to Hamburg SV on deadline day.

That’s according to Bild, and they report the details of this ‘last-minute poker’ to take the midfielder to the Bundesliga newcomers.

It’s claimed the German club’s negotiations with both Arsenal and his agent have been concluded. The Belgium international already arrived in Hamburg on Sunday to complete the move.

Bild say the two clubs are sorting out the paperwork so that this operation goes through today.

The 25-year-old is in his final year of contract with the Gunners. Therefore, Kicker report Hamburg will sign him on a permanent transfer.

Sky Deutschland backs up the Bundesliga side’s interest in the Belgium international and then provides the latest.

They report Lokonga has already completed medical tests with Hamburg, and the results are expected on Monday morning.

With medical completed, Hamburg will have to make the Arsenal player’s signing official. This is now pending to formalise Lokonga’s transfer.
