William Saliba has withdrawn from the France squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Iceland.
The defender twisted his ankle in the warm-up before Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday and had to be replaced by Cristhian Mosquera after five minutes, having failed to run off the issue.
The Gunners’ next game is against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates on 13 September. We then travel to Spain for our opening Champions League clash with Athletic Bilbao before welcoming Manchester City to N5. Fingers crossed, Saliba is available.
