Aleksander Bernard of Sport.pl reports that barring any late twists, Michal Rosiak will sign for Śląsk Wrocław at the start of this week. The transfer just need to be confirmed by the supervisory board before it can go ahead.

Bernard writes that Rosiak also had offers from Stoke City and a team in Cyprus, but he turned them down in favour of Śląsk.

Rosiak also had the option to extend his contract with Arsenal, with an offer on the table all summer. But he’s opted instead to depart.

The transfer deadline obviously doesn’t matter for free agents, but the Polish transfer window is also open until September 8th, so there would be no issue there anyway.

Despite being a free agent, Rosiak’s transfer will still bring Arsenal a training compensation fee from whatever club he joins. That’s because Rosiak is under 23 and he had a formal offer to stay in north London.

The former Gunner already had a trial with Wycombe Wanderers in League One, playing for the team in a few pre-season fixtures and even scoring in a win over Cheltenham Town. But it seems he’s set to move back to his native Poland.

As well as playing for the Arsenal academy, Rosiak has also represented the Polish national team at various youth levels in recent years, from u15 up to u19.
