Hamburg are poised to seal the signature of West Ham transfer target Fabio Vieira, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The journalist had previously said a couple of days ago that the Hammers had “entered the race” for the Portuguese midfielder’s signature.
However, he claims that there is now a “full agreement” between Hamburg and Arsenal, with Vieira set to join the Bundesliga side on an initial loan deal.

They will also have an option to buy the 25-year-old for a fee in excess of €20m (£17m) at the end of the season.
Paqueta’s decision to stay may have swayed West Ham
Lucas Paqueta had been heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa. Trusted insider ExWHUEmployee even suggested at the weekend that a “substantial offer” would likely be accepted by the Hammers.
However, Villa’s proposal was believed to be a loan with a purchase clause worth close to £50m. That is well below Paqueta’s reported £60m asking price.
It has also been claimed that head coach Graham Potter urged the board to keep hold of Paqueta, and he has seemingly got his wish. The midfielder signalled he was staying after scoring a penalty against Nottingham Forest at the weekend. In that context, you can understand why a move for Vieira was not explored.
The club have made 7 summer signings
As of 1pm on Monday, the Irons have signed Mateus Fernandes, Jean Clair-Todibo (on a permanent deal), El Hadji Malick Diouf, Mads Hermansen, Soungoutou Magassa, Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson for a combined £125m.
Many fans feel that the club are still short in certain areas, specifically in defence and in midfield, and it remains to bee seen whether further additions will be made by the transfer deadline at 7pm.
