Florian Plettenberg reports that Vieira has agreed a season-long loan to Hamburg, which includes an option to buy worth more than €20 million. The 25-year-old is expected to undergo his medical in Germany today before the move is confirmed.

This development comes after weeks of speculation linking Vieira with a switch away from the Emirates. As reported by JustArsenal, interest had been growing across Europe, with West Ham and Stuttgart both monitoring his situation closely. At one stage it appeared the Premier League side might win the race, but Hamburg’s persistence has paid off and they are set to add the Portuguese playmaker to their squad.
