The move to Brabrand, who play in Denmark’s 2nd Division (third tier), offers Nygaard the chance to test himself in senior football. The Aarhus-based club finished mid-table last season but are targeting a promotion push this term. Nygaard is expected to challenge for the number one spot, giving him crucial minutes to accelerate his development.

The loan also brings the young goalkeeper back to familiar surroundings, having represented Denmark at youth international level, including the U19s.

Arsenal’s decision aligns with their broader strategy of giving young players senior opportunities. The Gunners were busy on deadline day, sanctioning Albert Sambi Lokonga’s permanent switch to Hamburger SV and Fabio Vieira’s loan move to the same club.

Nygaard will link up with his new teammates immediately, with Brabrand’s league campaign already underway.
