Deadline Day deals: Alexander Isak, Piero Hincapie and Randal Kolo Muani
A record-breaking summer window has closed. The British transfer record was broken twice by the same club, as Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz for £116million and followed it up with Alexander Isak for £125m on Deadline Day as they spent close to half a billion pounds. Arsenal, though, had the biggest outlay as Mikel Arteta was once again heavily backed in the form of eight new signings including Piero Hincapie.
Chelsea were again busier than most, signing the likes of Joao Pedro and Alejandro Garnacho, while also selling a record £300m in talent. Will that be enough to mount a title challenge? Tottenham will hope that the headline signing of Xavi Simons and the late addition of Randal Kolo Muani are enough to give them the creativity needed to compete in the league and Europe, having missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze.
Manchester United signed Senne Lammens, but some targets failed to secure moves. No Carlos Baleba for Man Utd, no Marc Guehi for Liverpool, no Tyrique George for Fulham, no Manor Solomon for Crystal Palace, and more. Today, we break down the fallout from a stunning summer, so follow along live below with Standard Sport’s dedicated transfer news live blog!

Marc Guehi remains a Crystal Palace this morning after the club were unable to find a replacement for the centre-back.
Liverpool had submitted a deal sheet for Guehi, who passed a medical, having agreed on a £35million fee with Palace.
However, with the transfer deadline having passed, Palace decided to call the deal off as they weren’t able to find a suitable replacement.
Both Liverpool and Guehi, who was set to sign a five-year contract, wanted the move to go ahead.
In addition, Oliver Glasner reportedly threatened to resign his post as Crystal Palace if the club sold Guehi without a replacement.

Premier League clubs spent a record £3billion in a summer transfer window that finished with a bang thanks to Liverpool's £125million signing of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
The figure, as estimated by finance company Deloitte, smashed the previous record of £2.36bn two summers ago.
Liverpool spent more than £400m in the window, a record for a Premier League club, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Isak's former club Newcastle all breaking the £200m barrier.
Tim Lunn, director in the Deloitte Sports Business Group, told the PA news agency: "I think it just demonstrates once again the competitive nature of the league - more teams in Europe than ever before and big clubs that are trying to get back in Europe.
"I think that the competitive nature of getting into Europe has never really been more evident.
"I think that's reflected also in the amount of business that's being done. Not necessarily just the the the total spend, but the amount of business in and out of those clubs indicates that significant desire for them to improve and get into those coveted European spots."

Zinchenko has been hoping to secure a move away from Arsenal all summer after slipping down the pecking order.
The left-back had been a target for Marseille, but his wages - believed to be north of £100,000-a-week - were said to be a stumbling block.
Zinchenko has now joined Forest on loan for the season, however, after they made a late swoop for him.

Solomon joins Villarreal

The winger had looked set to join Crystal Palace, with the Eagles and Spurs submitting a deal sheet to continue work on the loan beyond the 7pm deadline day.
However, that deal collapsed and Spanish clubs then had the chance to seize the initiative, as the LaLiga deadline fell later at 11pm.
Spurs remained keen to find a move for Solomon and Villarreal's interest materialised into serious talks.
Reiss Nelson has admitted he wanted to join a club where he knew he would get first-team opportunities after completing a season-long loan to Brentford on Deadline Day, writes Sam Tabuteau.
Nelson had a number of offers on the table to leave Arsenal on Deadline Day but chose Brentford because he believes he can get regular minutes this season.
The 25-year-old said he also spoke to fellow Hale End academy graduate Josh Dasilva, who is continuing his rehab from a serious knee injury at Brentford, before deciding to join the west London club.
Piero Hincapie’s Arsenal shirt number has been confirmed following the announcement of his Deadline Day transfer.
Initially, Hincapie joins Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen on a season long-loan deal. As part of the agreement, there is an option of a permanent deal for £45million next summer.
The Ecuador international will further bolster the Gunners’ defensive options which already includes William Saliba, Gabriel, Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White and Jurrien Timber.
It has also been confirmed that Hincapie will wear the No5 shirt at the Emirates Stadium.
Tottenham’s Bryan Gil has joined Girona in a permanent deal.
He spent time on loan there last season, making just 43 Spurs appearances in his four years with the club.
