Jacob Parrish Is “Going To Contribute Day 1”
September 2nd, 2025
Bucs CB Jacob Parrish.
Former NFL offensive lineman and NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger, when he’s not surfing in Hawaii or scuba diving in South Florida, seems to spend a lot of time breaking down film.
And while Baldinger is a big fan of Bucs rookie Emeka Egbuka, there’s another Bucs rookie who has caught his eye. That is cornerback Jacob Parrish.
Baldinger loves how Parrish is able to read routes. This ability, Baldinger demonstrated on a Twitter video breakdown, allows Parrish to get a jump on the ball and break up passes.
Breaking down a play where Parrish breaks up a pass in the Bucs-Steelers preseason game when Parrish was guarding Roman Wilson, Baldinger raved about Parrish’s football acumen.
“[Parrish] times it perfectly,” Baldinger said. “I saw that a lot in preseason. He was excellent in the two preseason games he played. he played in about 45 snaps.
“He’s going to contribute Day 1.”
Joe has been of the mind for months that when Jamel Dean goes down, he would get Wally Pipped by Benjamin Morrison. With Morrison still hobbled by a tender hamstring injury he suffered in training camp, Joe wonders if Dean would lose his job to Parrish instead?
Bucs coach Todd Bowles has said in the past that Parrish can play outside cornerback or slot. Baldinger believes the same.
So far, Parrish is the star rookie of the Bucs’ defensive draft picks this spring.
