When Bill Belichick arrived at North Carolina to become a college football coach for the first time in his storied career, Mike Lombardi, Belichick’s opportunistic general manager, said the Tar Heels planned to run their program like “the 33rd NFL team.”

Everything about the six-time Super Bowl champion head coach’s move to college football got considerable attention and hype, including that comment.

In Belichick’s 48-14 loss to TCU on Monday night, the former Patriots coach’s team didn’t look much like an NFL program in the blowout loss.

The Big XII, TCU’s conference, took the opportunity to rub Carolina’s nose in it.

The league’s official Twitter account posted a picture of the celebrating Horned Frogs with this caption:

“A 34-point win over the 33rd Team.”

They’ll try to bounce back vs. Charlotte next week.
