As we await the international break, the Premier League will enter a brief hiatus before returning on September 13.
The FPL previous gameweek has been a turbulent one for FPL players – with top stars suffering injuries and dark horses racking up points, let’s see who the winners and losers were this week.
Goalkeepers
After two dismal outings, Liverpool’s Alisson finally repaid the faith that his FPL owners put in him this week. He didn’t have too much to do against Arsenal, but nevertheless kept a clean sheet and picked up two bonus points along the way.
Sunderland’s Robin Roefs also deserves a mention – he saved a penalty en route to the Black Cats’ win over Brentford on Saturday.
Between the sticks, there is only one pick for ‘flop of the week’ – Aston Villa’s Marco Bizot had an absolute nightmare against Crystal Palace. The Eagles had four shots on target against Villa – Bizot only saved one of them, resulting in a points tally of zero for this week.
Defenders
Marc Guehi is a man in the headlines. A move to Liverpool may be on the horizon – but nevertheless, his 15 point tally makes him the highest scoring FPL defender in gameweek 3.
Not only did the England international keep a clean sheet, he also scored an excellent volleyed goal along the way.
Elsewhere, there were plenty of other expensive defenders who failed to deliver this weekend. Ruben Dias, John Stones, Murillo, Nikola Milenkovic and Rayan Ait-Nouri all could not justify their FPL price tags.
