Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher have cast their eye over the summer's major dealings with the ex-Liverpool man not convinced by Chelsea's decision to land Alejandro Garnacho.

They signed the Argentine from Manchester United late in the window but Carragher is not sure the winger, whose attitude was called into question, will be the right fit. He is however impressed by the start made by Joao Pedro, who has already found the net for the Blues.

Carragher equally still needs to be convinced on Liverpool new boy Florian Wirtz, despite him joining for a then British-record £116m. The German playmaker arrives with a huge reputation but the Sky Sports pundit said: "He's obviously got quality".

Both men were aligned in their belief that Jack Grealish's loan move to Everton will be a big success. The playmaker has already laid on a number of goals as he looks to revive his career with the Toffees after a difficult stint at Manchester City.

Arsenal signing Eberechi Eze, Manchester City new boy Tijjani Reijnders and Manchester United duo Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo also got the thumbs up despite only being at their new clubs for a matter of games.

Benjamin Sesko though still needs to prove he can cut it, but he's largely been used from the bench since his £74million move from RB Leipzig, albeit he's yet to score. "It's not going to be easy coming into Old Trafford," said Carragher. "You know he's not been given a run of games yet."

Keane meanwhile cast doubt over Tottenham's business, particularly the decision to sign Mohamed Kudus from West Ham. The north Londoners spent £55m to land the winger, but the Irishman believes he failed to produce enough last year and believes he may fall short of the mark.

He said: "Not convinced, I have to say, but it would be nice if he surprises me." Carragher echoed that sentiment as he added: "He was hit and miss with West Ham wasn't he? Had a really good first season, then not so great, and he's been a little bit like that this season."
