It was a very busy end to the Premier League transfer window on Monday
The transfer window is over for the summer after a flurry of late action kept fans waiting until the final hours of the window on Monday evening.
Last-minute deals were completed all across London as Chelsea and Arsenal brought in new arrivals, Yoane Wissa secured his desired exit from Brentford to Newcastle United and Crystal Palace held onto captain Marc Guehi after pulling out of a move to Liverpool.
For the Premier League and many leagues around Europe, now is the time to take a breather and focus on action on the pitch with the new season firmly underway. Another chance to add to ever-brimming squads full of talented players will take place in January, where any glaring issues can be rectified.
In the meantime, several transfer windows in Europe and beyond do remain open. This means that exits are still possible for unwanted Premier League stars who were unable to secure a move before Monday’s deadline.
Which leagues have their transfer windows still open?
Turkey: The Turkish Super Lig summer transfer window remains open until 12 September 2025 at 23:59. Amidst the growing trend of Premier League players moving to Turkish giants such as Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, the Super Lig could be one to watch out for with bids continuing to arrive over the coming days.
Saudi Arabia: One of the most significant investors in big-name stars often surplus to requirements at Premier League clubs in recent years is the Saudi Pro League. Their transfer window remains open until September 23, meaning we could still see several moves go through before then.
Netherlands: The Eredivisie transfer window is also still open for business, for just a few more hours at least, closing on 2 September at 23:59. There could still be a flurry of late action on the Dutch transfer deadline day.
Belgium: The Pro League sees its transfer window shut next Monday on September 8, which just under a week left for business.
Greece: The Super League in Greece sees its transfer window shut the same day as that of Turkey, on September 12, which means there are still ten days left for business.
Others: There are several other countries in Europe where the transfer window remains open, including Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Israel, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia and Ukraine.
Which players could be on the move?
One big-name player who could not secure a move on deadline day was Raheem Sterling. The Chelsea outcast appears to remain firmly outside Enzo Maresca’s plans at Stamford Bridge, but the futures of other players were ‘prioritised’ over his according to a report by Mail Sport. With several days remaining for a move to a country such as Turkey to happen, a transfer could still materialise. It was suggested that the player was not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia earlier in the summer amidst failed links with multiple London sides such as Fulham.
Leandro Trossard has also been linked with an exit to Turkey in recent weeks and Arsenal may still opt to secure a deal for the 30-year-old forward to depart the Emirates before September 12. With the additions of Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, Trossard is likely to find minutes increasingly hard to come by and the Gunners may decide to part ways now while they can still receive a fee. Arsenal could also look to move on Gabriel Jesus, though the Brazilian is still recovering from an ACL injury.
Yves Bissouma has also been linked with a loan move to Galatasaray in recent days and the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder could still secure an exit before the Turkish window closes. We could also see several loan moves secured for young Premier League players to gain experience on the continent.
