Sean McVay Reveals Matthew Stafford’s Status For Sunday’s Game

The Los Angeles Rams and their fans have gone through a whirlwind of emotions over the past four seasons.

Matthew Stafford’s first season with the team brought them a Super Bowl, and with it, a lot of excitement and hype, but that has slightly died down in the following seasons.

The 2022 campaign was disastrous for the Rams, and while they’ve had winning records for the past two seasons, they haven’t been able to replicate that success.

Head coach Sean McVay and the front office have worked hard to revamp the roster in hopes of making a deep playoff run, wanting to recreate the magic they found during their Super Bowl season.

It will be hard to do that if Stafford isn’t on the field, and his health has been a major question and topic of conversation during the offseason.

Thankfully, as Adam Schefter recently noted on X, Stafford should be healthy enough to start Week 1 against the Houston Texans.

This is great news and a breath of fresh air for Rams fans, who have been patiently waiting for a positive update about this situation.

The team is in good hands with a capable backup QB in Jimmy Garoppolo, but they, of course, would like to roll with Stafford under center if possible.

Stafford gives this team a lot of upside, and it’s clear that he has great relationships and chemistry with many of his receivers, including young WR Puka Nacua.

It will be interesting to see how the Rams finish this year, especially since they have some tough opponents on the schedule this season, starting with this Week 1 matchup against the Texans.
