A court in Brazil has issued a restraining order to protect a young mum who claims Chelsea legend David Luiz threatened her after she rejected his request for a threesome.
Luiz, 38, denies ever making any threats towards 26-year-old social worker Francisca Karollainy Barbosa Cavalcante and denies meeting her, but has admitted to messaging her on Instagram.
The court order was made in Fortaleza, the capital of the state of Ceara in north-eastern Brazil, on August 27, less than 24 hours after Miss Cavalcante filed a police report.
In the report, Miss Cavalcante alleged she received threatening messages from the ex-Arsenal defender on Instagram shortly after their alleged affair ended.
She attached screenshots to the case file, showing the player allegedly writing that he had "money and power" and that her son could "pay the consequences." One of the threats reportedly stated: "I can simply make you disappear."

Miss Cavalcante said in the report that the words made her feel at real risk of death and she feared for her son's safety. She told local media that Luiz, currently engaged to long-time girlfriend Bruna Loureiro, contacted her online, invited her to Fortaleza, and booked her into hotels in the city.
She alleged the threats began after she rejected an invitation from Luiz - who now plays for Cypriot First Division club Pafos - to take part in a threesome. Her lawyer, Fabiano Tavora, stated that the Brazil international paid for hotels costing up to Brazilian Real 1,000 (£140) per night.
Miss Cavalcante said that after the story became public she was followed in Fortaleza, forced to change hotels several times, and also received threats from strangers.

Miss Cavalcante also said that David Luiz later offered her BRL 100,000 (£14,000) if she disappeared from his life. She reported that when she refused the offer, he repeated his threat and told her she would not live long.
In a post on social media, Luiz denied ever meeting her. He admitted that he exchanged messages with Miss Cavalcante, but denied making threats.
He said in a statement: "I never threatened anyone, I never threatened this person, I was never with this person physically, I was never at the hotel they say I was at."

His communications team said legal measures were being taken and that because the case is under judicial secrecy, this would be his only public statement.
They added that the player - who has won 57 caps for Brazil - reaffirmed his commitment to the truth and trusted the authorities to investigate.

Luiz first joined Chelsea in January 2011, before winning the Champions League the following season and the Europa League the year after. He left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2014 for a fee of £50m, at that time a world record transfer for a defender.
He returned to Chelsea in 2016 in a £30m deal, winning a Premier League and second Europa League trophy, before transferring to London rivals Arsenal in 2019. Having won the FA Cup with the Gunners in 2020, he returned to his home country to play for Flamengo in 2021, then Fortaleza, before making the switch to Cyprus.
