“You don’t fit in & u never will”: Deion Sanders Makes Feelings Known After Son Shilo Considers …

On September 2, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders took to his Instagram to share a positive post. This comes afternew reports emerged on Sept. 1 that his son, safety Shilo Sanders, was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – not for throwing a punch, but because of cap issues. After the ejection, Shilo reportedly said that he’dconsider leaving the NFL if things didn’t work out for him here.

Deion Sanders’ IG post read,

“Stop diminishing yourself just so u can fit in. You don’t fit in & u never will. You’re extremely blessed & fearfully designed to handle trials & tribulations that would normally break a person but not u. Walk in your purpose & accept that you’re blessed.”

He followed it with a caption,

“Stand up & Stand out! God took his time with u. Receive it & Believe it. #CoachPrime.”

Shilo signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on April 26. The release followed his ejection in the Bucs’ preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills. Initially believed to be tied to the altercation, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sept. 1 that the young safety wasfined $4,669 for throwing a punch. However, CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford clarified that the roster cut was more about depth and salary cap issues than the ejection itself.

“Sanders was competing in fall camp and during the preseason in a deep secondary for the Buccaneers and would’ve likely been a roster casualty regardless of his ejection in last week’s finale,” Crawford reported.

Shilo received just $1,572 for his preseason appearances. Despite signing a three-year, $2.965M deal ($988,333 annual salary), the 25-year-old became a casualty of the numbers game. Amid this situation, Deion Sanders updated another Instagram post on Sept. 1:

“Keep going don’t stop, keep fighting don’t give up, keep working don’t quit & keep your focus & don’t get distracted! The key is to keep moving. The enemy can’t hit a moving target. Ignore the noise it’s meant to distract u. You got this baby let’s go. #CoachPrime”

Amid Colorado’s 27-20 loss to Georgia Tech and quarterback changes, the Sanders family continues to lean on unity while Shilo weighs his next move.

Even after being released by the Bucs on August 31, Shilo Sanders says he isn’t completely done with football. In aYouTube video posted Thursday, the 25-year-old thanked Tampa Bay for the chance to chase his dream and said he still believes the NFL is in his future.

“I’m not giving up,” Sanders said. “Whether it’s finding another team, whether it’s getting another opportunity in the NFL, it is what it is.”

Sanders’ agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, confirmed last week they’re“hoping he gets claimed on waivers.”
